Our Top Frequently Asked Questions...

Q: How do I become an instructor for Ate?

A: The process is quite simple! All you have to do is fill out this application form. However, before you apply keep in mind we are quite selective with our instructors because we are looking for highly qualified individuals who are also organized and proactive. Make sure you are qualified to teach about your passion and fit the characteristics we are looking for before applying! You will be updated on your application status within two weeks of your submission.

Q: How much time do I have to dedicate to being an instructor for Ate?

A: The minimum time dedication requirement is 3 hours per week. Here’s a breakdown of this:
1 hour - Weekly team meeting. The first 2 months or so is when these meetings would last the longest, and even then, they are less than an hour long. After the first 2 months and as you become more familiar with being an instructor, these weekly meetings may just turn into a quick text check in.
2 hours (or more) - The additional 2 hours of the 3 hour minimum requirement is teaching your Passion Program! We require you to have at least 2 time slots open, which is equivalent to 2 hours/week. When you're being onboarded, these two hours would go towards creating your lesson plan and preparing to launch.
This was just a quick overview of what to expect in terms of time dedication! The first step is always to fill out the application form first.

Q: What do I receive in exchange as compensation for being an instructor?

A: As a nonprofit organization, all of Ate’s donations goes towards a cause, which you can learn more about under the ‘About Us’ tab. While you won’t be earning monetary compensation, we do track your community service hours for the time you spend as an instructor for Ate, and we can sign them off whenever you request us to. We are extremely grateful for all our instructors who put their time and dedication into teaching for Ate! Remember that sparking new passions in young girls while teaching about something you love is also quite rewarding :).
